Abstract
(2) This melting point for an oxime of 9-anthraldehyde has not been reported again in the literature. Hinkel, Ayling and Beynon report that after crystallizing 9-anthraldehyde. mp 105', in the light it melted over a range up to 135O. It is not likely that they used this material containing the photodimer to prepare their oxime, mp 187O.
