Abstract

Very short OH⊙⊙⊙ O hydrogen bonds (O⊙⊙⊙ O= 2.2-2.5 Å) usually occur when the H- bond is stabilized by a negative or positive charge (OH⊙⊙⊙ O-, O+ H⊙⊙⊙ O) or by resonance assistance (⊙⊙⊙ OCCCOH⊙⊙⊙).
