Abstract
Recently we have developed an efficient lipase-catalyzed kinetic resolution of syn- and anti-methyl 2-substituted 3-hydroxy-4-pentenoates, [9] which allows a ready access to syn- and anti-1,2-amino alcohols with high enantiomeric purity through the stereochemically reliable Curtius rearrangement of the corresponding carboxylic acids.
