Abstract
Selegiline, also known as 1-deprenyl, is an irreversible and selective monoamine oxidase-B (MAO-B) inhibitor and is administered alone or together with (S)-3,4-dihydroxyphenylalanine (L-DOPA) for the treatment of Parkinson's syndrome and Alzheimer's disease.
