Abstract
Olefins can be converted to their respective epoxides in a one-pot procedure by dissolving the olefin in anhydrous DMSO, adding NBS to the reaction mixture to generate a β- bromoalkoxydimethylsulfonium ylide, and then adding DBU to the reaction mixture.
