Abstract
Nickel pincer hydride complexes react with various boranes to generate nickel dihydridoborate complexes unless the pincer complexes contain bulky R groups such as tert- butyl groups. Depending on the boranes used, these reactions can be reversible at room temperature. In the reduction of CO2 with boranes catalyzed by the nickel pincer hydride complexes, the nickel dihydridoborate complexes serve as dormant species outside the ...
