Abstract
We first focused on the synthesis of 5-membered ring enone 5. Surprisingly, very few methods exist for the synthesis of cyclic α-carbalkoxyenones that do not require the use of selenium derivatives, even though such motives have proved to be valuable synthetic intermediates for total synthesis.
