Abstract
Since their introduction by Barton et al., chain reactions of N-hydroxypyridine-2-thione esters have been extensively used for synthetic purpose^.^^^ The reaction (Scheme I) is initiated by addition of a radical, generated thermally or photochemically, to the thione's sulfur center.
