Abstract: Second-order rate constants for benzoate ion promoted deprotonation reactions of (34trophenyl) nitromethane,(4-nitrophenyl) nitromethane, and (3, 5-dinitrophenyl) nitromethane have been determined in acetonitrile solution at 25 OC.
