Abstract
It is curious that of 5-and 8-amino-and hydroxylquinolines. all of which would be expected to afford both mono-and di-nitroderivatives on nitration, only the latter are known'), whilst the corresponding substituted halogeno-quinolines have only so far furnished mono-nitro- derivatives.
