Abstract
Department of Chemistry, Vanderbilt University, Nashville, Tenneasee 37903 symmetrical thiol sulfonate^.^ Since sulfuryl chloride has been used to convert disulfides and thiols to sulfenyl chloride^,^ key intermediates in the Douglass-Farah reaction, 2 and since it is very easily handled, it presented a useful alternative to chlorine in the Douglass-Farah synthesis; there is also the prospect of greater flexibility in conditions than with a gas, and of useful ...
