Abstract
It was of interest to prepare vinylpyrimidines in order to study their polymerization and the properties of their polymers. In particular the effect of a vinyl monomer, which would give a polymer of related structure to a portion of a polynucleic acid, on abnormal cell mitosis was of interest.
