Abstract:(I-Naphthy1) methyl phenyl ether (1) and 1-naphthyl benzyl ether (2) have been allowed to compete against isotopically modified 1 or 2 in reactions with fluoranthene radical anion, P-, and biphenyl radical anion, B*-, These reactions involve electron transfer followed by CH2-0 bond cleavage.
