Abstract

Derivatives of spiro [3.3] heptane have been prepared from the basic Fecht acid, dLspiro [3.3] heptane-2, 5-dicarboxylic acid. Spiro [3.3] heptane-2, 2, 5, btetracarboxylic acid tetraamyl ester has been isolated and shown to be a major intermediate in the preparation of Fecht acid.
