Abstract
Photochlorination of a, a, w-trihydroperfluoroalksnols at 10-40 gave good yields of o- hydroperfluoroaldehydes which were recovered by distillation from the initially-formed hemiacetals. An 80% yield of 5-H-perfluoropentanal-1 at a 25% conversion of alcohol xatl obtained. The yield of w-ch1orow'-hydroperfluoroalkane and a, a-dihydrofluoroalkyl ester sideproducts was sensitive to reaction conditions. The fluorinated aldehydes are reactive ...
