Abstract
When 2-methylpyrrocoline reacts with methyl iodide the first methyl group enters the 3-, and the second the 1-position. 2: 3-Dimethylpyrrocoline gives a Mannich base with formaldehyde and dimethylamine, the methiodide of which behaves as an alkylating agent
