Abstract Tetraetboxysilane was treated with alkyl-and aryllithium reagents for the preparation of organosilyl ethyl ethers of the type R 3 SiOEt, R 2 R′ SiOEt, and R 2 Si (OEt) 2, that can be reduced to the organosilanes R 3 SiH, R 2 R′ SiH, and R 2 SiH 2, respectively.
