Abstract

Pcrsilylated amino acids are used to prepare N"-tritylamino acids 2, 1. and 6 in high yields by cleavage of the Si-N bond with trityl chloride in chloroform under reflux. The side chains of Lys, Orn and Cys are simultaneously tritylated while silylprotected hydroxy and carboxy groups are not alTected under these conditions.
