Abstract

Dehomologation of aldehydes has been first successfully achieved via oxidative cleavage of silyl enol ethers, derived from aldehydes and trimethylchlorosilane, using aqueous hydrogen peroxide in the presence of a catalytic amount of peroxotungstophophate (PCWP) under phase-transfer conditions.
