Abstract

The degree to which a anions of straight chain and a-branched chain carboxylic acids are formed by reaction with lithium diisopropylamide in solutions of tetrahydrofuran (THF) and tetrahydrofuran containing hexamethylphosphoramide (HMPA) was established by deuteration and carbonation.
