Abstract: Solid bases prepared by derivatisation of amorphous silica and hexagonal mesoporous silica with dimethylaminopropyl groups are good catalysts for Michael addition reactions. Of the prepared catalysts, those based on hexagonal mesoporous silica show particularly high activities.
