Abstract
Arylmagnesium species can be efficiently generated from magnesium turnings and aryl chlorides or aryl bromides under dielectric heating conditions. Subsequent microwave assisted transmetallation using ZnCl2–TMEDA afforded the corresponding arylzinc reagents.
