Abstract

All efforts to synthesize phosphate esters of the type RIR~ R~ PO~ have given intractable compounds. Only three such stable crystalline esters have been isolated, but we were unable to resolve them. An unexpected product, tri-p-bromobenzyl phosphate, is obtained from the reaction of silver n-amyl p-nitrobenzyl phosphate with p-bromobenzyl iodide.
