Abstract
Abstract A facile, practical synthesis and resolution of (±)-2′-amino-[1, 1′-binaphthalen]-2- ol (1) is described, as well as the preparation of the tridentate Schiff base ligand 2 derived from condensation of 1 with 3-bromo-5-(tert-butyl) salicylaldehyde, which has been used in catalytic enantioselective acetate aldol addition reactions.
