Abstract
The silver ion promoted isomerizations of several substituted cyclopropenes have been studied. The results of these studies have been compared to the rearrangements encountered on thermolysis and photolysis. Treatment of 1, 3-diphenyl-2-methyl-3- benzylcyclopropene with silver ion afforded l-phenyl-2-methyl-3-benzylindene as the exclusive product.
