Abstract

The reaction is carried out without isolation of the intermediate 3, and therefore eq 3 constitutes a one-flask syn-thesis of tertiary carboxamides. In order to determine the factors influencing the yield of amide in the reaction sequence 3, the system n-BUM (M= Li, MgX, MgBu-n) and HCONMe2, with subsequent oxidation byPhCHO, has been studied in detail.
