Abstract
1808 JAMES F. NORRIS AND JOHN TWISS BLAKE ... The method of Schulze* for the determination of side chain chlorine was used. In certain cases the time of refluxing the halide with the alcoholic soIution of silver nitrate was increased to two hours. Experiments with p- and o-chlorodiphenylcarbinol showed that the halogen in the ring was not removed by the solution of silver nitrate.
