Abstract
18 (68%) cessed at room temperature to minimize possible decompo-sition of 13; however, only benzyl chloride, 9, lO-dihydroanthracene (12, 43% isolated yield), and higher condensation products were detected. Similar results were obtained when 9 was formed in more dilute solutions of solvent. j3-(o-Bromopheny1) ethyl Bromide (14).
