Abstract
Substances related to amphetamine have been known for some time to cause inhibition of monoamine oxidase (MAO). It was found, in our laboratories, that o-methoxy-a- methylphenethyl-methylamine hydrochloride* was a moderately good MA0 inhibitor, Recently, a-methylphenethylhydrazinet (JB-5 16) was reportedlt 2 to be a very potent inhibitor of this enzyme.
