Abstract
Complete ozonolysis of 1 in methanol at-78" C afforded a peroxidic, slightly yellow viscou solution. Upon warming of this crude reaction product, a vigorous exothermic reaction began at ca.-10" C which raised the temperature to the boiling point within a few seconds. During this period, approximately 7% of carbon dioxide and 1% of carbon monoxide were evolved, ls the yellow coldr disappeared, and the solution became less viscous but remained ...
