Abstract
In 1967 disodium cromoglycate (1) was first shown to be effective in the treatment of bronchial asthma.'It is still the only drug of its type that is used for the treatment of asthma, although a variety of compounds have been claimed, in the patent literature, as possessing a similar antiallergic activity.
