Abstract

Redetermination of the degrees of dissociation of methoxyl substituted hexaarylethanes by the magnetic susceptibility method has shown that fie values in the Bterature determined by cry+ scopic molecular weight values are too high due to the instability of these ethanes. The new URBANA, ILLINOIS RECEIVED ECEXBER 16, 1943 values show that the 0-methoxyl group is much less effective than the O-methYl fPUP in Causing dissociation. In the m-and ...
