Abstract: The Brqnsted-type correlation with thiol basicity of log K,, for the transfer of acetyl groups to a series of thiol anions has a slope, PCq, of 1.38, which is larger than that for the addition of a proton, but smaller than the value of Peq= 1.6 f 0.1 for the transfer of acetyl groups to oxyanions or nitrogen.
