Abstract

A study by nmr spectroscopy of the carbonium ions formed in SbFb. SO? at-60'from p- CH30CeH4CR2CR2X, p-CH, OCsI~ 4CRa (CH?) 3X, and o-CH~ X~ HICH~ CHZX was carried out where each R was varied systematically from H to methyl and X was halogen, mesylate, or OH.
