The reaction of 2, 3-dichloro-1, 4-naphthoquinone with L-histidine and L-tryptophan was performed in methanol in the presence of one equivalent of KOH and afforded the monochloro quinonyl derivatives 3e and 3f. Similar reaction with tryptamine and 6- aminoindazole in meth-anol or ethanol, afforded the heterocyclic amino quinones 3g and 3h.
