Abstract

Since anthracene is insoluble in carbon tetrachloride a series of experiments was made in carbon disulfide. Only 0.005 mole of the hydrocarbon is dissolved in 50.00 ml. of carbon disulfide, and the previous experimental procedure repeated at 26'.
