Abstract

Dimethylgallane, best synthesised by the reaction between trimethylgallane and sodium tetrahydrogallate, has been characterised by its spectroscopic and chemical properties; electron diffraction has established the structure of the dimer Me2Ga (µ-H) 2GaMe2, the predominant vapour species at low pressure.
