This report describes an investigation of the thermal oxidation of the saturated esters of adipic acid. The preparation and physical properties of esters from alcohols having 5 and 6 carbon atoms are given. The esters were oxidized both by continuous passage of air through the esters and by oxidation in an apparatus which recorded rate of oxygen consumption.
