Abstract

The yields and purity of the products are excellent compared with those obtained by conventional methods,?'such as reaction of thymol with alkyl halides and acid chlorides either in aqueous alkaline medium or in dichloroniethane using pyridine. The reactions are rapid and the isolation of products is very simple. The resin could be used repeatedly since its initial activity may be regenerated by treatment with HCI solution.
