Abstract Two different diacetyl-toluenes and 2, 3, 5-triacetyl-toluene are formed by permanganate oxidation of monoacetylated 3, 5-diethyltoluene isomers. 2, 3, 5-triacetyl- toluene gives colour reactions with amino acids like o-diacetyl-benzene. NMR und MS data of all isolated compounds are given.
