Abstract

A general approach to synthesis of dihydroxanthone derivatives is described here. In vitro evaluation of these dihydroxanthones demonstrated that some derivatives possess moderate anti-cholinesterase activities and better selectivities than tacrine for acetylcholinesterase over butyrylcholinesterase.
