Abstract

1 0-Benzyl-1, 2, 3, 4, 4a, 1 Oa-hexahydro-4a-hy droxyphenoxazine (1 1). A solution of 8 (254 mg, 1.24 mmol) and benzyl bromide (1.0 ml) in 10 ml of acetone was heated under reflux with potassium carbonate (343 mg) for 13.5 h. After removal of solvent, the residue was partitioned between benzene and water. The organic phase was washed with water until neutral and the dried (MgS04) solution was filtered and concentrated.
