Abstract: The decomposition products of N-benzoyl-N-nitroso-0-tert-butylhydroxylamine have been determined in a variety of nonpolar solvents. These products can be ascribed to the intervention of benzoyloxy-tert-butoxy radical pairs. rert-Butyl perbenzoate is one such product which is formed in yields which increase with increasing viscosity.
