Abstract

Nucleoside analogues are applied widely in antiviral and antitumor therapy. A severe limitation of these compounds is that they must undergo biotransformation into the corresponding active nucleoside triphosphates (NTPs) by the stepwise addition of phosphate groups by kinases.[1] If this activation proceeds insufficiently, the antiviral or antitumor activity of the nucleoside analogues can possibly be enhanced by using ...
