Abstract

Phenolic acids and their derivatives are widely distributed in plants and are usually found as various simple derivatives including amides, esters, 1a, 1c, 1f or in rather more complex dimeric forms such as rosmarinic acid (1) or clovamide (2) 1b, 1d, 1e (Fig. 1). These compounds have been reported to possess a broad spectrum of pharmacological properties, including antioxidation, anti-thrombosis, anti-inflammatory, antiviral, anticancer ...
