Abstract

The biohydrolysis of differently para-substituted styrene oxide derivatives was studied, using whole cells of the fungi Aspergillus niger or Beauveria sulfurescens. These microorganisms proved to be equipped with epoxide hydrolases which are able to achieve these hydrolyses with high enantioselectivity.
