Conclusions The results of this study show that state-of-the-art'H CRAMPS NMR techniques, including various kinds of relaxation experiments, are capable not only of distinguishing structurally different types of hydroxyl moieties on a silica surface but also of addressing the issue of proximity of one type relative to the others.
