Abstract

The 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition of azomethine ylides generated in situ from aldehydes and N-methylglycine has proven to be a very powerful procedure for the functionalization of C 60 due to its versatility and the ready availability of the starting materials. 1 The reaction is fast, clean and fulleropyrrolidines are obtained in fair to good yields.
