The reported antidepressant activity of 2-(3, 4-dich1orophenoxymethyl) imidazoline'and an interest in imidazo [2, 1-b] thiazoles, prompted us to prepare 2-(3, 4-dichlorophenacylthio) imidazoline which proved to be exceptionally potent (ED50= 0.5 mg/kg) in the reserpine hypothermia test in mice.
