Abstract

Abstract Irbesartan (Avapro™) is in clinical use as an antihypertensive drug. It is a nonpeptide angiotensin II receptor antagonist. A radiolabeled version of this drug, intended for use in environmental fate studies, was prepared from N, N-dimethyl [14 C] formamide. Our method of synthesis gave 18% overall yield and a radiochemical purity of 98.22%. Copyright© 2010 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.
